We slowly moved to higher ground, walking uphill and taking the ccasional few steps. Suddenly there were only steps, going straight up, and it dawned on me that there was no wide staircase for climbing up to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress in Sri Lanka – also known as the Lion Rock Fortress. Only these steps alongside the rock.
Darn.
